How NFC Tags Work with Multiple Languages
The world isn’t uniformly English-speaking. AlertNFC addresses this with a multilingual platform—but understand exactly how it works.
Two Distinct Multilingual Features
- Multilingual Platform UI: Interface available in 9 languages
- User-Entered Content: What you type is never translated
This distinction is critical. Machine translation of medical information could introduce errors that cost lives.
Supported Languages
English, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Japanese, French, German, Russian
How Language Switching Works
- Log into your AlertNFC dashboard
- Select the profile to update
- Find “Display Language” in settings
- Select and save
Different languages for different profiles—your pet’s profile might display in Spanish, your own in English.
What Doesn’t Get Translated: Your Input
- Emergency contact names: Enter in the language the finder will understand
- Medical terms: Use internationally recognized English terms
- Blood type: O+, A-, etc. are universal
- Phone numbers: Include country codes
Best Practice: For international travel, consider entering critical medical info in both English and the local language.
For Healthcare Providers
Advise patients to enter medical information in English and their native language when traveling internationally.
AlertNFC’s multilingual interface breaks down language barriers—but your information remains exactly as you enter it. Choose your input language wisely.
